Part time role: Good Shout Community Sales 

We’re looking for a part-time sales person who wants to join a small, smart and slightly weird L&D start-up. 

Location: This is a primarily remote role, but must be UK-based for occasional travel. 

Salary: 60k pro rata, 3 days a week plus commission starting at 10% rising to 30% (the more you sell the more commission you make).

A startup that’ll change the way people learn. 

Good Shout is an L&D company that helps people experiment with their voice, their talent and their thinking. We want to make learning feel lovely, and our refusal to deliver anything other than an impeccable experience is what makes us stand out. 

We train people in public speaking, and writing, and creating, and how to talk to each other more effectively at work. Our courses have been described as “transformational” and “the best training I’ve ever done.” Someone the other day told us that the course she took before Christmas has changed her life. This is because rather than leaning on life coach language and telling people they can/should be confident, we teach people skills that they’ll use forever. 

A ridiculously ambitious and creative team. 

We are desperate to make a difference in the education space. We’ve already helped hundreds of people find their voice, and now we’re getting busy. So busy, in fact, that we need a sales person to work on the ‘voice’ side of the business, so that our leadership can focus on innovation and creativity. We need you to sell places on our public speaking courses, and kick off conversations about longer-term partnerships. 

What will you be selling? 

Our flagship ‘voice’ product, which we call "a couch to 5k for your voice", is tried and tested, incredibly popular and has a bunch of testimonials. This product has a few different variations. 

  • Good Shout 8-week course 

  • Good Shout Powerhouse 

  • In-house versions for teams. 

  • Good Shout TV (a live TV simulation) 

  • We’ll also need you to set up basic paid search and monitoring leads

Until now, these products have essentially sold themselves, thanks to the great networks of the founders and facilitators, but we need someone to help us take sales seriously. 

We'll be looking for you to sell around 15 places on a range of courses each month, with several significant partnership conversations started each month, too. Other staff will always be available to attend important meetings with you, so you always feel your are supported in the role. 

What kind of person are we looking for? 

Someone who really cares about the power of voices. You need to be an excellent communicator. This means:

  • Being able to own a room 

  • Having a compelling energy

In addition: 

  • You’ll have experience selling L&D products 

  • You’ll have a great network of people who respect your voice 

  • You’ll have the ability to be ambassador on our behalf
